We had a gas dryer in the 60s, and my mother loved it! You really don't notice any difference in drying clothes, there's no "gas" smell, and it still ran off of electricity, it just heated with gas. When she had to change to all electric, she was not happy. She swore up and down that the clothes just didn't feel right. Honestly, I saw no difference, and neither did my father.

Bob, my mother was also crazier than a bus-load of clowns, so I took everything she said with a cup (not a grain) of salt.

Never saw it but I heard about it. Personally, I never cared for clowns anyway.

Meatpies, I am *still* using a gas dryer. It may be old-fashioned, but it sure cuts my electric bill.
